The Original Kitchen
Before work began, the kitchen had become dated and disconnected. The space featured:
- Worn quarry tiles with damaged and uneven flooring
- Mismatched cabinetry and limited storage
- A boiler positioned awkwardly within the room
- Old ceiling finishes and inadequate lighting
- Dark blue feature walls that reduced natural brightness

The Renovation Process
This project involved far more than simply replacing cabinets. Our team carried out a full-scale renovation to improve the room structurally, practically and aesthetically.
Floor Levelling & Reclaimed Quarry Tiles
One of the key challenges was the uneven floor at the rear of the kitchen. We carefully levelled the subfloor before sourcing reclaimed quarry tiles to preserve the original character of the property while creating a consistent finish throughout the space.
The restored flooring now acts as a standout design feature that complements the modern cabinetry perfectly.
Boiler Relocation
To improve both layout and usability, the boiler was relocated from one side of the room to the other. This allowed for a far cleaner kitchen design with uninterrupted workspace and better overall flow.
Ceiling & Lighting Upgrade
The old ceiling was removed and replaced, with modern recessed spotlights installed throughout. The new lighting dramatically brightens the room and creates a much more contemporary atmosphere while maintaining the property’s character.
Plastering & Decorating
The entire kitchen was fully plastered and redecorated in soft neutral tones, replacing the dark walls and helping natural light bounce around the room. Combined with the large windows and greenery outside, the finished space feels fresh, calm and inviting.
Bespoke Kitchen Installation
The final stage was supplying and fitting the new kitchen itself. The design combines:
